化妆品检验室拥有专业技术人员19人，其中高级职称5人，博士2人，硕士7人。主要承担国家、省、市各级化妆品的监督检验、风险监测等检验任务及化妆品标准制修订、科研项目等研究工作，是国家药品监督管理局化妆品监测评价重点实验室、国家化妆品风险监测工作组成员单位和广东省药品监督管理局化妆品安全风险物质检测与评估技术重点实验室，具备国家化妆品注册和备案检验机构、国家化妆品监督抽检复检机构、广东省化妆品监督检验机构等资质。
实验室配有静电场轨道阱高分辨质谱仪、电感耦合等离子体原子发射光谱仪和气相色谱-质谱等大型精密仪器设备，可检项目千余项。在化妆品禁限用组分检测、安全风险物质检测以及相关新技术、新方法研究等方面具备技术优势，率先在国内开展化妆品高通量数字化筛查系统等研究。先后获得深圳市科技进步奖和标准奖。
近年来，部门主持和参与完成多项国家标准的制修订工作，圆满完成国家、省、市化妆品风险监测任务20余项，与中科院长春应化所等国内科研院所建立了合作研究关系，共同开展化妆品以及化妆品原料的检测及安全性评价研究。
There are 19 technicians in Cosmetics Testing Department, 5 with senior professional title, 2 PhDs and 7 masters. The main tasks of the lab are quality inspection and risk monitoring, as well as research and development on cosmetics standards and projects. The lab was entitled with “National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) Key Lab for Monitoring and Evaluation of Cosmetics”, “Member of Cosmetics Risk Monitoring Group of NMPA” and “Guangdong FDA Key Lab for Detection and Assessment Technique Research of Risk Substance in Cosmetics”. So far, it has been authorized with the “NMPA Institution of Cosmetics Registration and filing Inspection”, “Cosmetic Retest Agency of NMPA” and “Supervision and Inspection Agency for Cosmetics of Guangdong Province”, etc.
The lab is equipped with many advanced instruments including Orbitrap LC-MS, ICP-MS, and GC-MS, etc. It has technical advantages in the detection of prohibited and restricted ingredients, detection of risk substances in cosmetics. And an innovative high-throughput screening system has been established for the illegal adulterates. Our works had won the Shenzhen science and technology progress award and standard award.
In recent years, the department has developed and revised lots of national standards, accomplished more than twenty national、provincial and municipal cosmetics risk monitoring projects, established cooperative relationship with Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences and other research institutions to study the testing techniques and safety evaluation of cosmetics.
